2024 Polar Plunge

Instructor jumping into water for the 2024 DUDC Polar Plunge

For our January meetup, we chose to pair up with a few different groups, all for charity. Raleigh Scuba Diving was proud to participate in the 2024 Polar Plunge. The plunge is hosted by the Down Under Divers Club (DUDC) with all proceeds & donations going to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

The plunge was held at Mystery Lake Scuba Park with about 75 people in attendance. This event is a great gathering of folks across the scuba diving community in the Raleigh area. The fine folks at DUDC have a chili cooking competition to war, you back up after the plunge, provide coffee & hot chocolate and, of course, lots of cameras, laughs, screams and towels. 🙂

The water was a balmy 50º and we had members of the RSD team out there to help people out of the water as well as ready to dive in should anyone need assistance.

We had an incredible time networking with fellows divers, dive shops and helping out for a great cause! Our own Amy Mullins was there taking killer photos to help capture the misery (I mean tropical like conditions)! A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to support MADD and a very special thank you to DUDC for putting on such an amazing event!
