Search & Recovery is one of the most useful advanced certifications you can have. There is no feeling like being asked to retrieve something precious, meaningful, or expensive for someone else. Regardless, if a boat lost their anchor, another diver lost their mask, a swimmer lost their wedding ring, or something completely off the wall, this course gives you the skills & techniques to locate & safely recover what was lost.

What to expect in this course:

Many scuba divers go underwater for relaxation & recreation. Search & Recovery gives you experience with diving for a targeted purpose. In this challenging & rewarding course; you’ll spend just as much time gathering information, triangulating locations, & planning the dive as you will in the water. You’ll learn how to rig, lift, & safely recover different objects from small (like a wedding ring) to large (like a boat motor)*. *up to a certain weight range, agency dependent

Search & Recovery Certification

This class includes your online e-learning material, 4 in-water training sessions with a certified instructor, your certification card (C-Card) and the ability to find all the cool stuff the surface dwellers have lost.

Course Requirements:

Search & recovery certification prerequisites:

15 years or older (Under 18 requires parental consent)
Advanced open water diving certification
Approved diver medical form
Liability waiver

Gear requirements:

Standard scuba gear (regulators, BCD, weights, tanks, computer – rentals available)
Personal scuba gear (mask, fin, snorkel, boots – student must provide)
Finger spool or reel
Appropriately sized lift bag (optional).

Class requirements:

Satisfactorily complete the online learning course with a test score of 80% or higher
After instructor remediation, a test score of 100%
Complete all open water requirements efficiently
Demonstrate safe recovery practices
Ensure the certifying agency has your photo on their website (no hats or sunglasses)
