The Diving First Aid (DFA) for professionals is not just for professional scuba divers. The first aid course provides the industry’s most comprehensive education in basic life support skills, CPR, AED as well as O2 administration, neurological evaluations, tourniquet use, deep laceration treatment and more. Don’t be fooled by its name, this course is for ANY diver, not just dive professionals.

What to expect in this course:

Diving first aid (DFA) for professionals is the most comprehensive medical course offered we offer. Created by Divers Alert Network (DAN), this course teaches divers (and non-divers alike) how to respond to emergencies as well as conduct cursory neurological exams. It goes above and beyond scuba agency medical training and is recommended for divers who enjoy diving in remote areas where emergency services may take a while to arrive. This class fulfills the prerequisite requirements for our rescue course.

  • Lifeguards, babysitters or caregivers, outdoor enthusiasts, scuba divers.
  • Professionals in commercial, instruction aquarium, scientific diving.
  • Those who need OSHA/ILCOR compliant training or a USCG accepted course.

What you will learn:

Course Requirements:

CPR/Diver first aid certification prerequisites:

  • 10 years or older (Under 18 requires parental consent)

Class requirements:

  • Satisfactorily complete the online learning course with a passing test score.
  • Complete all classroom requirements efficiently

Time Requirements:

  • 2-3 hours for online learning
  • 5-6 hours of instructor led classroom training

Diving First Aid (DFA) for Professionals

This course teaches neurological evaluations, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, automated external defibrillator (AED), laceration treatment, BVM usage, Oxygen administration & more combined into one program.  It is designed to teach the techniques to administer CPR, first aid, utilize an AED & handle other common injuries in an emergency situations involving infants, children, and adults. This course fulfills the prerequisite for earning your Rescue diver certification.
